Sherpa Fire

Posted on June 20, 2016

Wildfire Season is Here

Flying up to Santa Rosa over the weekend took us right by the Sherpa Fire (also being called the Scherpa Fire), which is in the Santa Ynez Mountains, near Goleta, in Santa Barbara County. The fire has doubled since I shot these on Thursday afternoon. Even though the fire is about 50% contained at this moment, triple-digit heat, low humidity and sundowner winds are creating "extreme fire danger" conditions, which has been fueling the fire. Hopefully the firefighters are able to get this under control and put out soon!
