Maybe My Favorite Flyover Picture So Far

Even though this is my 9th year going flying on New Year's Day to try and photograph the B-2 Stealth Bomber as it flies over the Rose Bowl Game, I think it is one of my favorite flyover photos. Here's why: the American Flag in the center of the field really pops, the stadium is packed with fans and the B-2 is almost perfectly between the end zone and the American flag on the field, but not obstructing either.

"It’s not something you see every day: A vertical bird’s eye view of a B-2 Stealth Bomber flyover at the Rose Bowl."

Angela Ratzlaff - Los Angeles Daily News

There is a fair bit of skill and luck involved in being able to capture this moment. I'm really thankful to my co-pilot for helping me get in position and my son for keeping me updated on the B-2s location. More details about the day and some more photos are available in the Los Angeles Daily News article.
